How did you get into cycling? When I was nine, my Dad bought a mechanical odometer for my banana-seated Schwinn. He offered a penny for every mile I rode during summer vacation. I rode my butt off to make about $13.00. Who knew way back in 1977 that I was actually being groomed to one day race in VeloPromo events?

What's your greatest accomplishment in cycling? I take the long view, noting that I am healthy and still enjoy competing after all these years. The single constant in my life has been cycling, and for that I am thankful. I also feel fortunate to have an opportunity to ride with the red and green machine.

What do you do when you're not on the bike? Read New Yorker and obsessively clean my apartment. Oh, and when I am not training, reading, or cleaning, I practice law. It's not much, but it's a living.

If you were a character in a movie, which character would that be? As I am frequently neurotic and needy, it would have to be Woody Allen.
